Road Tripp on MC in Norway September 2022
As I see it, this whole adventure started with me talking to my good friend Anders Bjälevik and he told me that he and his
son had gone, among other things. Trollstigen in Norway. I said that I would also like to ride it. But then we will ride it
next year, Anders said This was before the pandemic. Then other ailments came into the picture so it took a while. We mentioned
the trip at some Odd Fellow meeting and Jarmo also showed interest. In the end, Anders had called together six brothers who
were interested. A month or so passed and then Björn called a meeting at Västanförs Hembygdsgård for rough planning. Björn had
worked out several route proposals and there were three of us who met at the meeting. The same group that then completed the
trip, i.e. Björn Samuelsson, Jarmo Annala and myself, Tommy Stahre.
We agreed on the route according to the picture below and then we went through our calendars to see when we jointly had holes
for nine days. Not until September 2-10 did we find holes in the calendars that matched. We also saw advantages in that the
summer season had just ended so it should be easier to find accommodation at reasonable prices and that the roads would not be
so heavily trafficked.

Ursprunglig Rutt
I had noted that food prices are at higher levels than here in Sweden, then I really enjoy cooking.
So that the pension would not be "eaten up" too quickly, I suggested that we could at least fix lunch ourselves at
Trangia storm kitchen if the weather was OK. Good idea, my traveling companions thought, and I undertook to get soups and preserves.
One of my two packing rolls was consecrated as a pantry. After botanizing at the local shop I had collected eight
various soups, tinned ham, minced meat sauce in a tin, Bullens pilsner sausage, meatballs with sauce in a tin, Bulgur, pasta and bread. Ha, ha, that
turned out to be enough for a few dinners too.

Rjukan
Here we stayed an extra day. There is a lot of history here, i.a. from the Second World War. Five of Norway's hydropower plants
are in the area, of which Vemork is one. In part of the power plant produced heavy water that the Germans wanted to
prepare an atomic bomb to drop on London. Due to the numerous sabotages, they did not succeed. The Krossobanen built
Norsk Hydro fed the city so that the residents could go up and see the sun during the winter months. The sun doesn't reach down
in the valley October to April.

At home
Summery
A nice trip with nice travel companions. Björn was responsible for route planning according to objectives. Jarmo kept his spirits up and offered
on himself. I planned and prepared the food so that it was as varied as possible.
In total, the trip cost just under SEK 4,000 for accommodation, food and drink. To that comes bran plus that we ate at
restaurant on two occasions. We feel satisfied with that. /Tommy
